Choosing A Home Based Business

When choosing a Home Based Business, there are some things that you need to think about. Often times people believe that you can just join a program, use their referral page, and then automatically you earn some additional income. The fact is, your going to need some items before you start to see any kind of revenue pouring into your pockets. Here is a list of what it will take to start your online business.

1) Start up capital - You will need some money to kick start your business. Yes, it's a business, you need to advertise the business. It's just like a brick and mortar business. It takes money to make money. In this day in age there is nothing Free anymore. You won't need $1,000's to start, just a enough to get people to your business. For as little as $5 a week to start, you could begin earning revenue. If you drink Star Bucks everyday, go to the gas station instead and get some coffee, heck you probably just saved $20 a week doing that.

2) Sincerity - This is YOUR business, you need to be sincere about it. Don't just start a business and leave floating around the internet to flourish, because it NEVER will.

3) Honesty - Eventually you will begin to make contacts, you need to be completely honest with them about your business/opportunity that you are offering.

4) Patience - Get rid of the myth that you are going to earn $100,000 in 6 months. It WILL NOT happen. What can happen is that you grow your business over time. Did the founder of Star Bucks just wake up one day and say.... Hey I think I am going to open 5,000 coffee shops spread over the United States? NO, it started as one lonely old coffee shop and grew to be probably the #1 known coffee name in the world.

5) Time - You will need at minimum at least 7-10 hours a week to take care of your business. This time will be used for talking to prospects, updating websites/blogs, looking for advertising, and a lot of other things we will go over down the road.

For now, you need to think about those 5 things that I mentioned. If you can add those 5 things to your priorities in life, then you will be able to begin the walk down glory road!

Interesting post. I'll keep it in mind, because I plan on running my own business soon. It'll be tough, so I can use all the help and advice I can get. Lately I've been thinking about buying a business instead of starting one from scratch. I’m thinking maybe a franchise? Home based? Any suggestions? Advice? Thanks.
