Creating a Website to Earn Money Online

Earlier I had talked about creating a blog to begin earning an income online, another way to earn money online is to start your own personal website. What's the difference? It could be a lot or a little depending on what you want to do.

Creating your own website gives you the flexability to create what you want. A blog has a pre-defined template that limits you in the placement of items. So which is better? It's really your preference. Personally I like creating my own websites, so I can build them to my liking and add as much stuff as I want to!

To create a website first you will need a few items:

A domain name - This is your .com, .net, etc. name.

Hosting account - Your hosting account is where your website will be hosted. I have always purchased my hosting and domain names at Godaddy.com. They are widely known and over the years they have been flawless for me! If you do a search for hosting accounts, you will find that there are numerous places to purchase them on the internet. A word to the wise, no matter who you get your hosting from, purchase you domain name there also. This will save you some time!

A website editor - This is where you will create your website. Personally I like Front Page, it is simple to use. Another popular website editors are Dreamweaver, both of these programs would need to be purchased. You may also find free website editors on-line if you do a search for them. Although I have never personally used one, I have heard that there are some pretty decent free one's.

FTP Transfer program - This is used to transfer your created files from your website building program to your hosting. This is simple to use and you can find a free one on-line, I use a program called CuteFTP. You can download it for Free and it is simple to use.

Creativity - When you create your website, you want to be creative! Sure you can get a website template and simple edit the template to fit your style, but being different sticks out from the norm!

Creating a website to earn an income gives you multiple ways of generating money. This is the #1 reason I like creating my own sites, it just opens so many doors. Source of income that you can incorporate into your website are, Google Adsense, Click Bank, Commission Junction, Amazon stores, and many more options. Sure some of these you can use on your blog, but with your own website, you have the option of incorporating them where ever you want to! The choice is yours, either way you can begin to create an online income in a matter of days!
