How to Start Affiliate Marketing Business

Affiliate marking is becoming one of the most popular home based businesses in the United States. Some people dedicate their entire time to affiliate marketing, while others take this opportunity as an avenue for extra income. Affiliate business does not cost much to start so basically there is very little risk involved in becoming an affiliate.

What are the practical things to do in order to start your own affiliate businesses?

First of all you will need a website. To begin with you do not really need to own your personal website. You can start a free blog at Blogger or Wordpress. Not all affiliate programs require a web site in order for you to join. But most major affiliate networks do and the affiliate IDs from these networks are generally associated with your website. Down the road you will learn that it is good idea to have different websites dedicated to particular advertisers and even to particular products and services. But to begin with, you need only one web site. If you will be starting an affiliate business with a single website, it is good idea to create a website with your profile as an affiliate in it. Many advertisers will check your website before they let you into their program.

Second step is to join some of the major affiliate networks. While there are many companies that offer affiliate program independently, joining networks like Commission Junction or Link Share has its benefits. You can choose from hundreds of leading companies, in fact you can actually actively promote products for hundred different companies at the same time. It is much easier to track your advertising efforts if you join affiliate network. All the data is aggregated, and you can see sales and payments from a single account. It is not to say that independent affiliate programs are bad, in fact there are many good companies that offer affiliate programs via network and independently at the same time.

After you join an affiliate program, start creating websites and promote the products and services, and get paid in return. While this sounds easy, in reality it requires much of dedication and hard work. This you can learn from people who have written about affiliate marketing, but be aware that some "gurus" of affiliate marketing may be just looking to get you money but give you nothing in return.

How to determine good resource on Affiliate Marketing?

First of all you need to stay away from products and services that "promise" to make you "rich" overnight or promise to set you with a "magic" flow of cash. You will be better off to take a trip to Las Vegas and spend your money there, your odds to hit a jack pot there are much higher then becoming rich overnight with these programs and e-books.

There are some very good e-books, websites and blog on affiliate marketing. Good affiliate marketers will tell you that you need to dedicate time and effort in order to succeed. If they offer you anything for money make sure if their reputation, achievements and expertise are verifiable by third parties. Take a closer look at their blogs and websites to see how dedicated they are to protect your privacy. Many times good author will offer you a money back guarantee with no question asked.

The Keys to Earning an Income with Multi Level Marketing

Multi Level Marketing, better known as MLM, can be very rewarding if you take the proper steps. So often times people join an MLM business and think they are going to earn an income right away. When the reality is that the income builds over time. MLM as a home based business is a business that needs to be built day after day -week after week - month after month. It's a business that needs to be treated as a business. If it's taken care of, the home based income will be a residual reward.

Here are some key points to keep in mind when joining a MLM business.

  1. Do research on any business opportunity that you are thinking of joining. If the business has been around for a good amount of time, then it usually is worthwhile. Find out if there is a forum to the business and search around to see what people are talking about. Look for the good and the bad points
  2. Find out the cost of the business. Most multi level marking programs have a monthly cost to them. Weigh the cost against the possible profits that you can earn.
  3. Look into the total business, find out if they offer an autoresponder and leads. This is a must for any home based business, if you don't have any leads or a way to get them then you will never grow.
  4. Find out if the MLM is a forced MLM. If it is a forced MLM company, then your downline will grow when new people come into the home based business. If it isn't a forced MLM, then you will be responsible for all of the recruiting.
  5. Remember it isn't always the best approach to recruit 100 people. The best approach is to recruit 3-5 people and train them on the business. Ensure they know the in's & out's of the business. This is a MUST! If they are not properly trained about the business, then how can you expect them to recruit and train people? Having 3-5 properly educated and trained members in your downline can lead to a gold mine in residual home based income!
  6. Find out if the business offers lead capture pages or a website to send prospects to. Most quality MLM companies will also offer different forms of advertising so do some research to see what is working. Remember to always budget yourself with your advertising, if you don't then you'll most likely spend way more than you wanted to !
  7. Realize that you may not earn a dime in your first 4-10 weeks that you are in your based home MLM business. MLM is a business that grows over time, if you stick with it then the growth will come!
If you follow these guidelines and keep it simple, the residual income will begin to grow in your new home based business. MLM business ventures can be discouraging at times, but keep your head up and if you take the time to market and learn the business every single day then the residual income can be amazing!

Two-Tier Affiliate Marketing - The No-Cost, Easy Way To An Online Income

Many of the great fortunes of the 19th and 20th centuries were made by simply buying and selling -- buying other people's products and getting other people to sell them. In the world of off-line commerce, this has always been the traditional method of generating wealth. Now, in the internet age, this technique can be done effortlessly with just a click of your mouse.

U.S. marketing legends, Jay Abraham, Dan Kennedy, Ted Nicholas and many others, have taught for years the power of becoming a joint-venture broker and, in the process, have generated hundreds of millions of dollars. This, in the off-line sense, is where you find a company wanting to sell more of their product, find a company that has the capability of selling more of that product and broker a deal between them in return for a hefty commission on the total sales.

On the international stage, the system is also known as an import/export agency where the agent sources products from overseas and finds buyers at home who sell on to the end user. If you've bought something from your local hardware store, it probably came in a box marked 'Made in China'. The storekeeper didn't spend weeks visiting Chinese factories looking for something to sell in his store! He, directly or indirectly, used the services of an agent/broker.

The same system applies to many other aspects of our lives. For example, a dating agency will introduce two people with mutual interests and, in the process, collect a commission for making the connection. Closer to home, the fruit and vegetables in your local supermarket go through a middleman. He finds the farmers wanting to sell and the supermarket has the 'list'; the customers who do the weekly shopping there.

Prior to the emergence of the internet, brokering deals meant complicated contracts, usually involving expensive lawyers, extensive telephone and telex calls and a fair amount of hard work, often lasting for many months before the commissions started coming in.

Now, all that has changed and contracts happen automatically, all contact is done on-line and the only hard work is carrying out a little research and sending off some e-mails.

Transferring this system on-line can see results appearing quite literally in a a few days and all the components of even an on-line business become redundant. No products to sell, no website to build, no marketing skills to be learned and, most importantly, the holy grail of internet marketing: no list required.

Picking a category to broker for is probably the hardest first step to take as the internet has an overwhelming range to choose from - just take a look at e-Bay's category list! A hobby, interest or passion even is an easier place to start and brokering deals on a subject you enjoy will provide the motivation to get going. Once you've experienced the thrill of successfully brokering your first deal, you have many thousands of categories and tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of products to take your pick from.

Once a subject has been chosen, Google and affiliate directories are used to find products for use with this system and it's then time to look for marketers to promote these products.

Using Clickbank as a springboard, specific search phrases in Google will bring up sties that are already promoting other products in the same category. Further specific search terms will bring up many more sites that won't appear in a standard Google search.

Depending on how precise your category is, hundreds, but often thousands of sites that have the potential to market your product to can be found with ease. E-zines will also provide an ideal hunting ground and a simple search will reveal many thousands of potential sites.

The hardest part of brokering is contacting all the site owners but software can automate much of your work. The e-mail must be phrased to offer a specific benefit that requires only a few minutes work on the part of the owners; that way as many as possible grab the offer.

Not all sites will respond to your offers but those that do will provide a residual income for months or years to come and each new deal will provide another layer of income. There will also be spurts of income levels as e-zines send out your offer to their mailing lists.

In conclusion, joint-venture brokering has been producing a comfortable and lucrative living since trading began. Now, thanks to the internet, it's easier and quicker than ever to get a percentage of the vast sums of money that are moving around the world between buyer and seller.

Which Factors Contribute To Your Website Revenue?

Someone says website traffic is most important to website revenue. Someone says it is website conversion rate that determines your website revenue. Which one do you believe?

Actually,we will have the traffic first, the visitor will scan through your sales page & determines whether to read on or leave. Of course, it depends on how attractive your website is.Its the job of your website to persuade the visitor to buy from your site or subscribe to your newsletter. This is the conversion rate of your website. Website revenue depends on these two continuous factors one by one and you will loss the customer if either factor fails. In fact,it is this single factor (I call it the prosperity factor which is website traffic times website conversion rate) that determines your website revenue.

However, which one is more important and should comes first? It seems website targeted traffic is more important since traffic comes before the conversion. However, I think website conversion rate is more important. With a poorly designed website or a poorly written website sales copy, you are just driving away your visitor from your website and those visitors will never come again. If your website is designed professionally and your sales copy is well written and attractive, those visitors will subscriber to your newsletter and they will come again even they don't purchase you for the first time.

So, it is important to design your website and write your salescopy professionally before driving traffic to your website.

To your online success and prosperity.

Google AdWords - The Road Ahead

There is no doubt that Google AdWords has made a lot of people a lot of money and continues to do so even today. However, the real question today is not about the past but rather the future.

Competition on Google AdWords is growing rapidly and that competition is of such a nature that a newbie or even an intermediate affiliate marketer is going to find the going exceedingly difficult and costly. The price of keywords has shot through the roof. One no longer is in competition with just another individual but often with corporations and small businesses employing internet marketing AdWords experts.

And, whether you know it or not, most of those who are considered internet marketing gurus have a staff working under them. There may not be many of them but they are professionals - professionals in sales copy, web design, product research, product development, keyword tracking, and all the technical aspects of how to do this, how to do that. Often work is hired out to professionals.

All of this is important with Google AdWords because they are no longer concerned just with the quality of your ad and keywords but your site as well. They are looking for more and more professionally done sites (called landing pages by Google) all of the time. How is your web copy, your design, your content, your relevancy as Google determines it?

It is also readily apparent to about every newbie that Google does not encourage you but rather discourages you. Keywords are a great example. Find a keyword that no one is using for an AdWords ad. You do a Google search and go to the results page and you do not find a single ad listed. Okay, you ought to get the keyword cheap, right? Sorry!

Here is a case history of my own. Under just such a scenario as I have mentioned I set up an ad and bid the minimum to get it going. Okay, I thought the minimum would be 5 cents. I bid that. But, no, they come back saying it will be 15 cents. Okay, we will try that. That lasted all of 4 impressions, impressions mind you, not clicks, they then want to double the price to 30 cents to show the ad on my keyword. And, yet, there was not an AdWords ad on the page.

It is as if Google is no longer interested in small chump change or the little guys that built the company with their advertising dollars in the early days when Google was a nobody. It is almost as if they have hung out a newcomers are not welcome sign. I do not say that is their intent but only the result of what they are doing.

Now what does this bode for the future of Google AdWords? What does it mean? It means the days of the little guy are over. The days of the professionals has arrived. The day of big businesses has arrived on Google. It means Google is not the vehicle to success it once was for the guy starting out. Whatever you think about this article every person who has attempted to do AdWords will tell you it has become increasingly more and more difficult to succeed.

For the future I am wondering what is going to replace Google AdWords for the small guys just starting out? What is the next Google AdWords going to look like? What name will it have? Is it already here online but just going unrecognized? Time will tell.
